North Island

Affinity Services – Auckland 
Affinity provides support to people with mental illness in the community. If you live in the Auckland, Counties Manukau or Waitemata District Health Board areas you can access a range of free services provided you meet the necessary criteria for referral. Youth respite services are available for ages 13–24. Adult services include: adult crisis respite, family/whanau support, flexible community living support, Kaupapa Maori support, maternal mental health (including respite), occupational therapy, peer support, support for community involvement and supported employment.

Arahura Charitable Trust – Auckland
Arahura provides levels one, two and three supported accommodation in central Auckland. Advocacy/peer support and social recreation/consumers: Crossroads Clubhouse provides day services for mental health consumers. Based on the International Clubhouse Model.

Arataki Ministries – Northland
Community-based support for people with mental illness in Northland. Provider of residential, transitions, packages of care and community support.

CONNECT – Supporting Recovery Inc (formerly AMHS) – Auckland 
Committed to working with a recovery focus, flexibly and creatively to inspire hope, create choice and opportunities and encourage transformation and promote health and wellbeing. Services include: residential, Asian Responsive Service, dual diagnosis, peer support and EDGE Employment.

Framework Trust – Auckland

Progress to Health – Waikato, Taupo, Taranaki 
Progress to Health is a community-based organisation providing individualised and group activities that enhance mental and physical wellbeing. They provide a range of services from helping people with daily living skills and assisting with vocational goals to providing training to help people achieve their personal goals.

Turning Point Trust and SAGE Career Support Service – Tauranga 

Mental health and addictions recovery service. Based at the Historic Village, 17th West Avenue, Tauranga. Open Mon-Fri, 9am-3pm and Tues, 11am-3pm. Phone 07 5786934 or fax 07 578 9643. Their career support service is SAGE. Based at the same location. Open Mon-Fri 9am-3pm. Phone 07 578 6443.

Walsh Trust – Auckland
The Walsh Trust offers support services that promote recovery for people whose lives have been affected by an experience of mental illness. Services include short-term residential accommodation for older people, housing and recovery support services, life-skills programmes, Jigsaw peer-support, and the EmploymentWorks! employment service and vocational support. Services are predominantly West Auckland-based, but employment support services are also available on the North Shore. 

Work Foundations – Auckland

Work Foundations is a regional DHB service (covering Waitemata and Auckland DHBs) that has provided people affected by mental illness with assistance in realising their vocational potential for over 40 years. They are an occupational therapy based service with a recovery focus, with staff who are health professionals and also have additional qualifications in career counselling and supported employment. Emerge Aotearoa

Emerge Aotearoa provides a wide range of community-based mental health, addiction, disability support and social housing services nationwide. Their recovery and rehabilitation services are designed to empower people to reach their full recovery potential.

Workbridge 
Workbridge is a professional employment service for people with all types of disability, including people who have lived with the long-term effects of injury and illness. A Workbridge client will have been living with the effects of their disability, injury or illness for more than six months. Workbridge works at no cost for jobseekers and employers to match people to the right job.

Workwise  
Workwise works with people who are facing personal or health challenges and supports them to return to or stay in employment.

Vitae
Vitae is a Not-for Profit nationwide provider of workplace wellness and employee assistance services.

PACT – Otago, Southland, West Coast 
Support services for people recovering from mental illness, including day centres, supported accommodation, respite, peer support and advocacy.

Step Ahead Trust  – Christchurch
Step Ahead Trust provides social, educational, recreational and prevocational rehabilitation through activity-based programmes. Their aim is to enable people to live well in their community. Phone 03 389 4001 or 0800 OUTREACH (0800 688 732).
