All Right? health promoters wanted

25 May, 2017

All Right? is looking for two experienced health promoters/community builders to join our collaborative campaign with the people of Hurunui and Kaikoura.

All Right? is made up of passionate mental health promoters, ingenious designers and marketers, expert communicators, committed researchers and evaluators all wrapped up in a partnership led by the Mental Health Foundation and the Canterbury District Health Board.

You will be...

a dyed-in-the-wool community activist and advocate. You like to be directed by the aspirations of the communities you work with and you can work with diverse groups of people. You're comfortable engaging stakeholders and making allies everywhere you go. You're committed to a Te Tiriti-based way of working that addresses inequity and seeks to support Māori aspirations for wellbeing.

The work

We need someone who will help us bring the messages and mission of All Right? to life, at many levels and in a way the communities of Hurunui and Kaikoura understand and want. It will involve getting many different groups of people on board with the campaign, becoming champions in their own homes, workplaces, neighbourhoods and districts. You won't be alone in this work but you will be comfortable working independently, mobile and taking initiative.

We will...

help you become a knowledgeable advocate for mental wellbeing; give you experience in a world-class social marketing and health promotion campaign; enable you to travel around some of the most beautiful parts of North Canterbury; and work with a passionate, high-performing team of human beings who support and care for each other, understand the power of a good laugh and fearlessly bringing your whole self to work.

The salary is $80,000 (pro rata) which will be commensurate to the successful candidate’s skills and experience for these roles. Each position is 0.6 FTE or 24 hours a week.
