The Rotorua Marathon is the oldest and most historic marathon event in Australasia and we are proud to be a charity partner!

The Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand are proud to be a charity partner for the 2017 Lion Foundation Rotorua Marathon – and we’d like you and your whānau to join our team!

On the May 6, 2017, over 1,500 people will leave their comfort zones, challenge their mental and physical reserves and connect with the natural beauty that Rotorua has to offer.

There’s something for everyone to take part in, whether it’s a brisk 5.5km walk, a scenic lap of Lake Rotorua, or the full marathon – we’ll be with you each step of the journey, encouraging you to set a goal and motivating you to achieve it.

By joining the Mental Health Foundation team, you’ll not only be accomplishing something for yourself, you’ll also be part of creating an Aotearoa where everyone can enjoy positive mental health and wellbeing.

By raising money for us you’ll help to stomp out the stigma surrounding mental illness and ensure that the one in four New Zealanders who experience a mental health problem each year, don’t have to face the tough times alone.

Every person who joins our team and fundraises for us will receive:

  • An online fundraising page and fundraising tips.
  • Training guides, tips, and advice.
  • After the race, exclusive access to our gazebo area for you and your supporters to enjoy some light refreshments.

Other bonuses:

  • Raise $100 and receive a free Mental Health Foundation t-shirt.
  • Raise $200 and receive a free Mental Health Foundation t-shirt and goodie bag from our sponsors.
  • Raise $650 and receive a free Mental Health Foundation t-shirt, goodie bag with items from our sponsors AND get your entry fee refunded.

This will be a truly exciting event to be a part of and we hope you and your whānau consider running for a great cause.
