I am completing 6 summits back to back to show my support to mental health in our community. Dates are to be confirmed.
I'm sure we can all agree that the past year has been extremely tough on us - with everyone struggling with individual battles. Whether it be loss of income/job, not being able to see loved ones or facing the disappointment of canceled events and trips.
I can say that lockdown had a massive impact on my mental health and I know others who too struggled during and beyond this period. I felt extremely down during lockdown and anxious when coming back into society after being cooped up at home for so long.
My 6 Summits for Mental Health is my way of reaching out and saying it's okay to not be okay, there is always support, always help and always love to guide you through such turbulent times.
I will be completing the Haakiramata Summit, Wairere Falls, Mount Te Aroha, Mount Karangahake, the Pinnacles Summit and Mount Pauanui back to back and I encourage absolutely anyone to choose a summit, come along and show your support to your friends and family who may be struggling with their mental health. The more the merrier! I will have plenty more information on times and locations and how you can donate and get involved as the event draws closer.
All proceeds will go to the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand to further help our community.
