The Mental Health Foundation is hopeful that the proceeds from a charity “slave” auction at gay men’s bar Urge this Saturday will enable them to boost gay men’s mental health initiatives.

12/10/2011 2011 NZ Mental Health Media Grants: extended until 31 October
The deadline for the 2011 Mental Health Media Grants has been extended until 31 October 2011 and the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand, who administer the grants, are encouraging those who missed the original deadline to submit an application.
Today the call is to Take Notice. Just like your favourite All Black surveys the field and is aware of his surroundings, it is important for everyone to take time out, notice the world around them and reflect on their experiences. Taking Notice can be a simple as visiting somewhere in your local community that you have always wanted to see or showing support for a local community champion.

Bay of Plenty primary school teacher, Georgie Tutt, has just published her second book - Caught Between Sunshine & Shadow: Part II- Untold Stories - an e-publication that is the sequel to last year’s Caught Between Sunshine & Shadow. She is launching it in Auckland’s Pt Chevalier Public Library on Thursday, 13 October – during Mental Health Awareness Week.
