Location

The preferred location for a public workshop was Auckland (55%), followed by Wellington (36%).

Day and workshop length

Mondays (40%) and Fridays (40%) were the most preferred days for a workshop, with the majority of respondents (82%) liking a workshop to be held over a full day.

Cost

Most respondents (60%) felt a price of $50 - $70 per person was reasonable.

Topics

Suggested topics for a workshop with a 'mental health at work' theme:

  • Dealing with stress - recognising stress in yourself and others and how to manage it
  • Awareness of mental illnesses and how to recognise mental health issues
  • Dealing with depression
  • Mentally healthy workforce policies and development
  • Legal obligations of both employer and employee regarding mental health
  • Coping with increasing work loads
  • Managing staff morale and motivation
