Mental Health Promoter - Kai Xin Xing Dong
Charlie works for Kai Xin Xing Dong, the Foundation's Asian mental health promotion programme. The programme is bilingual in Mandarin and English with coverage limited to the Auckland region at this stage.
Charlie was born in China and moved to New Zealand in 2001. He finished a Postgraduate Diploma in Food Science in 2009 and has been a volunteer for the Asian Health Service at Waitemata District Health Board. As a Chinese migrant, Charlie has a special interest in reducing discrimination towards mental illness within the Chinese community and also discrimination experienced by the Chinese community in general.
