Robyn Byers

Robyn is a Nelsonian and trained as a psychopaedic nurse prior to qualifying as a clinical psychologist in 1977. She practised for 20 years in the Nelson/Marlborough mental health service. In addition, she also taught psychology and health management at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology before becoming Regional Service Manager of Nelson/Marlborough mental health services in 1993.

Robyn has post-graduate qualifications in health management, quality management, auditing, employment law and education. In 1993, she won the Nelson Bays Business Development Award (for IDSS) and then, in 1994, won the Australasian Mental Health Individual Gold Award for Innovation and Excellence in Mental Health Service Provision. Robyn has enjoyed being on the Board since 1998.
