Roimata Kirikiri
Roimata Kirikiri is of Ngati Mamoe, Waitaha, Ngai Tahu, Ngati Kahungnu and Ngati Porou descent. Being a former commissioner on Aotearoa's Commision for UNESCO, she has a strong passion for education.
Roimata currently works in dual roles as the pouherenga matauranga for Te Waipounamu, representing the Ministry of Education in Ngai Tahu's education partnership, and alongside nga iwi o Te Tau Ihu o Te Waka to make meaningful differences in educational achievements for children.
Along with six other Maori women, Roimata took up the challenge to run the New York marathon in 2005.
