Te Awhina Arahanga
Ngati Tuwharetoa, Te Ati Haunui a Papaerangi, Ngati Hautiti ki Rata, Waitaha, Ngati Mamoe, Ngai TahuTe Awhina began her career in heritage and exhibition design working for museums and heritage organisations. Her desire to work in mental health came after a period of unwellness when she experienced first hand the stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness. Te Awhina works with tangata whaiora to grow their voice and help make the discrimination she experienced a thing of the past. Te Awhina still maintains her interest in heritage and exhibition work; another one of her greatests joys is New Zealand music, particularly D-dub (reggae) and contemporary and tradition Maori music
