Cate Hennessy
Consultant Communications
Cate's career started with a Master's Degree in Zoology at Auckland University, studying the behaviour of polar bears. This was followed by a brief stint as a zookeeper on the big cat run at the zoo, before she fell sideways into public relations at the Department of Conservation - and loved it!
She's spent the last 14 years working in PR for a number of organisations, including the former Health Funding Authority and the Foundation for the Blind (as Communications Manager). She now contracts to not-for-profit organisations as a communications consultant working on a diverse range of projects. When Cate's not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
