Peer Support Training with Shery Mead

21st to 24th September 2006, Wanganui.

Shery is widely acknowledged as the international leader on peer support and trauma-informed, peer-run programmes that provide support and respite through times of "crisis".

The workshop itself is an exercise in peer support in that everything we learn about will be put into practice. You go way beyond talk about values and principles to experience the concrete practices that make peer support so unique and powerful. You leave this workshop with solid experience that you can use immediately to enhance your support of others.

Recovery in mental health: Certificate of Proficiency

This is one paper from the final year of the BHSc in Applied Mental Health degree. The paper has been developed to provide a depth of understanding of the new discourse of recovery in mental health and to assist you in the application of this knowledge in practice.

Kindling the Flame Conference

Perth 2007

The Kindling the Flame conference is coming up next year in Perth.

This Conference will the drive the agenda forward and provide the setting to:

  • promote further discussion on the status and challenges of mental health promotion;
  • seek political and other support for mental health promotion initiatives;
  • exchange innovative ideas and practices;
  • create new concepts, methods of evaluation and indicators to raise awareness of models of best practice.
