Issue 4 - Summer 05/06

ISSN 1178-2587

Foreword

Kia ora, and welcome to the fourth edition on MindNet. We have some interesting and diverse content this time, including thoughts on the concept of mental health promotion, the effects of media and policy on perceptions of violence, and problem gambling.

We also have pieces on student well-being, a kaupapa Maori based programme for youth, and 'Horses for Healing' – a new programme in Whangarei for people with experience of mental illness.

MindNet aims to include content that not only informs, but also provides ideas and concepts that we hope will prompt discussion. As such, we would like to hear from you. In the next edition, we will be launching a 'Letters to the Editor' page to provide a forum for feedback on the articles in the previous issue.

Ideally letters should be 200 words or less. We welcome your contribution, but reserve the right to not publish certain letters due to space, editorial or other considerations.

I hope you enjoy this edition of MindNet.
